Perfect

How many perfectionists do you know?

Those individuals who strive for perfection or should I say want perfection out of you and are unable to produce perfection themselves. I know a whole lot of perfectionists. I used to work with them

They have the critical eye and critical commentary on everything. They have the what's not right and what is right with that attitude. They have the celebrity look what I can do mentality along with having unrealistic goals for others and are suffering from the never good enough syndrome.

The funny thing that I have discovered is nobody is perfect and millions of people strive to be just that. When you strive for perfection you constantly beat yourself up and others when they fall short of expectations. So the perfectionist becomes verbally abusive to themselves and others. More than likely going into a depressed state because they failed to accomplish something.

Perfectionists will always fall short because only God is perfect. So we must strive for excellence because when we strive for excellence we can learn from falling short of a project and strategize more successful methods. Instead of beating up our fellow man and ourselves.

I want to share a verse in the Bible that has been a life saver for me. This verse was given to me by a strict Bible school teacher named Loretha at a time when I really wasn't into church. It came at a point when I had really turned my back on God.

Loretha selected a verse which God led her to share with me to memorize. Strive for excellence people and listen to what God has to say on perfection through his word.

"God is my strength and power and he maketh my way perfect." 2 Samuel 22:33 KJV

As you go through your day remember that when you strive for excellence allowing God to be your strength and power he will make your way perfect.

Stop being perfect and let God perfect you.

Feast on this truth, because it is the sweetest icing on the cake of life to have your efforts empowered and perfected by God because then they are flawless by divine design and cannot fail.
